Get Ready to Put Your Football Skills to the Test

Gamers who have worked their way through many of the most popular football computer titles out there will probably have noticed that they tend to be rather complicated. There are lots of tutorials to get through and rules to learn before you can even start playing and you often need a high skill level to win matches. Power Soccer has simplified things by offering an uncomplicated and easy game that anyone can enjoy. Read on to discover if the game benefits from being dumbed down a little.

Power Soccer serves as a good introduction to the world of computer football and inexperienced gamers are sure to enjoy the simplicity of the game. The controls are almost intuitive, meaning that it doesn’t take long for players to figure out what they have to do and get on with the action of the game.

There are two different modes for players to choose from; power soccer and quick match. The quick match mode is ideal for players who have a short attention span and this allows gamers to simply enjoy a quick game of football without the complexity of having to think about long term objectives and goals.

The power soccer mode consists of six consecutive matches, with three qualifying rounds and a tournament consisting of three rounds. However, the game play and general concept of the power soccer mode is almost identical to the quick match mode, with the main difference being that gamers are able to play for slightly longer before having to start all over again.

The graphics of the game leave a lot to be desired and feel rather flat and basic. This is a real letdown that takes some of the excitement out of the game and makes it feel rather unimaginative. The creators of Power Soccer seem to have put all of their focus on keeping the game simple and left a lot of the features and nuances of the game out in the process.

People who are looking for an uncomplicated and easy game to play are sure to enjoy Power Soccer. However, experienced gamers will probably become frustrated by the lack of options and simplicity of the game and get bored quickly.

Pros

  • Easy to use controls
  • No long tutorials
  • Simple game play

Cons

  • Not many options to choose from
  • The game is a bit too simple
  • The graphics are rather flat
